Work progresses at the Darke County Courthouse

The first floor renovation is progressing at the Darke County Courthouse.

There is one correction from the prior article - in that it now appears that the original door casings will remain partially concealed through the new renovation. The problem is that several large metal utility pipes (one in the foreground of the photo) were installed just above the since-removed drop ceiling. As you can see, a wood bulkhead is now concealing the large pipes along the sides of the hallway. However, these same pipes cross the hallway at each end - and in the background of the photo, you can see where the pipe actually covers the original archway at the entrance of the courthouse. Hopefully, there is a solution which will leave the archway open and unobstructed.

Even so, the work so far represents a huge improvement. More updates to come ...
