From somebody who would know about the social costs of gambling. Very interesting ... you can watch the video here.

  2. Who CARES what he OR she thinks!?! Ugh! I know someone who has a problem with alcohol, and someone who was killed by a drunk driver, that means drinking should be illegal! Since we have to make sure that the people who can't control themselves aren't "tempted".

  3. Absolutely 6:37PM!! Their logic is bad. If we had to worry about people being tempted then we'd have to ban junk food, cigarettes, and on and on.

They teach recovering alcoholics that going back out into the "real world" is essential. That means bars or parties where alcohol is available. It isn't really recovery if you aren't exposed to the temptation.

People have all kinds of addictions. It isn't our job to protect them from exposure. They need to take responsibility for themselves.

  4. Let's be honest, if someone has a gambling problem, they are going to find ways to participate. If they are going to spend it anyway, it might as well benefit our state.

  6. The ones that are for issue 3 will be the first ones to bitch about the prostitution, increased drug crimes and violence and how the cities are turning into slums. So by all means vote yes.

  7. to 7:37 So if we get rid of all the gambling then all of our problems will be solved, so lets get rid of the Ohio Lottery, get rid of raffle tickets for school fundraisers, get rid of the 50/50 drawings for fundraisers. We all ready have an increase of drug and violence crimes.
