  1. You can not tell me that 2 dollars on a barrel of oil will drive the price up that high.I think it is all a scam. The price of a barrel of oil is at about 80.00 a barrel right now so how is it going up 2 dollars a barrel going to jack the price over 3 dollars a gallon? It wont.If you remember when all this crazy gas price started the major oil companys posted record profits and there still doing it.Why dont they just tell the truth. There all getting greedy and it will come back to haunt them in the long run.demand hasnt been driving it up.It was pretty much the same price threw out the 90s

  2. Big oil is owned and operated by republican oil tycoons. They are so anxious to see to it that Obama fails that they would do anything in their power to make this happen. We all know that if fuel costs get to the $3.00 mark or higher the effects that would have on the whatever ecconomic gains we have would soon be lost.

  3. what economics gains?

your conspiracy theory would hold more water if gas wasn't $4/gal late in bush's second term

  5. $3 gas will be mild compared to the increases in healthcare after the Republicans triumph in blocking reform.

  7. The biggest clue is what has happened to the ecconomy over the last 5 years. It all began when the price of fuel started escalating and everyone jumped on the band wagon and started raising their prices. You can blame the justified increases on the cost of fuel for sooo much.

  9. Sure, the greed in big business but mostly the greed in the commodities markets makes most of the price of oil. Yes hype and scam come into play here also. But the term worry also comes into play here with the increase in oil usage throughout the world in the last several months. Peak Oil may be here sooner than expected, if that's the case we could pass $3 and/or $4 gas prices very quickly. Yes that would be a tough impact on our and world economy. I don't think the people that own big oil have to worry about passing blame to, Obama, he can fail on his own! I also missed those financial gains particulary around here. The only ones I heard of are the ones in the big banking houses.
