Arcanum will make up snow days over spring break, summer

The Arcanum kids will lose four days off spring break - and make up a fifth day in the summer, extending the school year to June 7th. Bummer. Exit question: how much learning will occur in the Arcanum schools on June 7th?

  2. I work for a school, last yr we had to make up days due to the windstorm. Those make up days were spent watching movies and many of the students didn't come to school due to family plans, camps starting or bascially they were ready to be out of school. To think the governor wants to do away with calamity days is a big mistake. He is running for re-election which I will give serious thought to when I vote.

  4. The governor is just plain wrong about eliminating calamity days. They are not only for safety during bad weather, but for electric outages, water problems, heat issues...things that just come up an can't be avoided at the time. He says this is all for "better education", but in reality, the man does not have one clue at all. I vted for him because at the time I thought he was the better choice - I could not have been more wrong, and I will not make the same mistake twice.
    At least I didn't vote for obama..........
