FARM ACCIDENT KILLS VERSAILLES MAN

Darke County Sheriff's Office Deputies are investigating a tragic farm related accident that occurred at 8606 Hager Rd outside of Versailles , Ohio . On April 29th, 2010 at 1:34 PM, the Darke County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a male subject was caught in a grain auger. The Darke County Sheriff's Office, Versailles Fire and Versailles Rescue were called to the scene along with Careflight, who was later cancelled.

Preliminary investigation reveals Nicholas L. Grillot, 64, of Reed Road , was removing corn from a grain bin when his jacket was caught on the shaft of the grain auger. Grillot was pronounced dead at the scene.

Darke County Coroner's investigator was requested to the scene to assist with the investigation. The accident remains under investigation.
