Darryl Durr was executed today for the 1988 rape and murder of 16-year-old Angel Vincent in Elyria, Ohio. Courageous to the very end, Durr attempted to delay his execution on the argument that he was allergic to the drug that would be used to cause his death. The courts did not buy the argument, and Governor Ted Strickland rejected an 11th hour clemency plea. Ohio's new one-drug execution method was again flawlessly administered - as Durr's sentence was finally carried out at 10:36 a.m. this morning.
