Tool Collection Date Set to Benefit Nearly 100 Nonprofit Organizations

HandsOn West Central Ohio, including the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, is collecting new (or gently used) gardening equipment, tools and cleaning supplies to support the creation of a new tool check-out program benefitting nonprofit organizations in Darke, Logan, Miami and Shelby Counties.

Drop off clean work gloves, rakes, shovels, buckets, brooms, gardening tools and other supplies on Wednesday, May 12, any time between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at any of the following locations:

  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore - 2822 US 68 South, Bellefontaine
  • Darke County United Way - 207 East Fourth Street, Greenville
  • A Learning Place - 201 RM Davis Parkway, Piqua
  • Shelby County United Way - 121 East North Street, Sidney

These items will be used to create a tool check-out program. Local nonprofit organizations may check out supplies free of charge for use during volunteer projects throughout the year, especially projects held on Make a Difference Day. This year Make a Difference Day will be celebrated on October 22 and 23 in Darke, Logan, Miami and Shelby Counties.
