  1. The newscaster asked the right question: Why not just raise taxes on the wealthiest rather than ask the poor and middle class to pay more? Faber had only the party line answer -- which is the wrong answer for our time. Tax increases do not cause loss of jobs. Actually, the opposite is true because instead of paying tax money to the government, many employers choose to hire and write off an employees wages. Taxing corporate profits does not stifle job creation. Just the opposite is true. There are so many tax loopholes for corporations that they pay very little of out tax burden. Just returning to the tax rates we had when Eisenhower was president would solve all out economic woes. Wake up America. We are a plutocracy, run by representatives of the very rich who own the media and mold our thinking with Orwellian double talk. We need the kick them out of office.

  3. My error and my apologies to the editor who does such a fine job keeping this journal together. I actually used to tap a few maple trees when I lived in Darke County. It was a wonderful experience, but mine mostly turned to maple sugar pretty quick. It is a wonderful local skill!
