Weave Rag Rugs!

Woof, Beater, Warp, Shuttle… Join Darke County Parks’ Volunteers, Edward and Joan Leighner, as they host an educational lesson on weaving rag rugs. The program will be held at Shawnee Prairie Preserve Nature Center, 4267 St. Rt. 502 West, on Saturday, August 13th at 10am. During this program you will learn the basics on how to operate a loom, what to use and what not to use when making a rug. Each participant will get a chance to try their “crafty” hand at running the shuttle of woof through the warped loom, before you know it you will be prepared and ready to get your loom up and running. The cost of this program is $5 and pre-registration is required. Space for this program is EXTREMELY limited, so please call early. To register, call the Nature Center at 937.548.0165.
