State of the Heart Hospice patient Betty Riffell and her husband Frank of Greenville had a pleasant surprise recently when seven State of the Heart employees showed up at their doorstep to sing Christmas Carols. “This is so wonderful,” Mrs. Riffell said. “I can’t get out so it was great they came to me.” Frank and Betty are former volunteers for State of the Heart. Mr. Riffle was a volunteer chaplain in the 1990’s. The singing of Christmas carols has become a tradition for the Greenville staff. They visited the homes of several State of the Heart Hospice patients before Christmas. State of the Heart cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life-limiting illness. Visit the agency web site at www.stateoftheheartcare.org.
