FEBRUARY IS “HEART OF A HERO” MONTH AT CBC

HEARTFELT THANKS FOR A GIFT THAT COMES FROM THE HEART

DARKE COUNTY, OH – February is St. Valentine’s Day month and Community Blood Center (CBC) is thanking donors for the gift they give that comes from the heart and goes far beyond chocolates and roses. The “Heart of a Hero” campaign celebrates donors for giving the gift of life.

Beginning Monday, January 30 through Saturday, February 25 everyone who registers to donate blood at all CBC branches and most CBC blood drives will receive the “Blood Donor – Heart of a Hero” t-shirt.
It features a red heart with golden wings ringed by the “Heart of a Hero” slogan and set against a red background.

February is also the heart of winter, so seasonal challenges to blood collection continue. Winter weather can disrupt blood drive schedules and discourage travel, plus cold and flu symptoms prevent many from donating. CBC, like many vital services, rarely closes. Donors can support CBC no matter what Old Man Winter brings by calling a CBC branch or visiting www.givingblood.com with questions about health, schedules and operating hours.

Technology is making it faster and more convenient than ever to schedule your next blood donation. Just use your computer or smart phone to make an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com.

You can also contact Dana Puterbaugh, Darke County - Account Representative @ 937-997-2199 / dputerbaugh@cbccts.org to schedule your appointment.

Please remember that appointments have priority and Walk –Ins are always welcome as the schedule permits. This just means that if you walk in and all appointments are filled at the time you come to the blood drive we will let you know when the next available appointment is and you have the choice to either wait or come back at the time that is available.

Please always allow 45 minutes to 1 hour to get through the entire process, even if you have an appointment.
