3 Vehicle Accident on 49 South

On February 10, 2012 at approximately 5:35 P.M. Darke County Deputies along with Pitsburg Fire Department, Arcanum and Greenville Rescue were dispatched to State Route 49 and Grubbs Rex Road in Darke County Ohio in reference to a three vehicle injury accident.
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Ford Mustang driven by, Graeme Mitchell, 50, Arcanum, Ohio was north bound on State Route 49 stopped in the roadway waiting to turn left onto Grubbs Rex Road. A 2001 Ford Focus driven by, Brandon Vanata, 19, Greenville, Ohio was north bound on State Route 49 failed to stop, striking the rear end of the Mustang. The Mustang traveled across the center line striking a south bound 2001 Buick Park Avenue driven by Garry Crowe, 57, and his passenger Diane Crowe, 56, both of Greenville.
 
Two were transported to Wayne HealthCare in Greenville with minor injuries, and two refused treatment at the scene.
 
The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, this accident does not appear to be weather related.
