Myers Resigns as Greenville City Auditor

Greenville City Auditor Nancy Myers has resigned from her position, effective September 24. She provided the following statement on the change:

It is with mixed emotions that I make the following statement:

I have chosen to accept the position of Assistant Finance Director for the City of Marysville, Ohio. I was contacted by Marysville’s Administration and requested to submit a resume. After meeting with representatives from Marysville on two separate occasions, I have made the decision to resign as Greenville City Auditor at 11:59 P.M. on Sunday, September 23, 2012.

In June, 1980 I accepted a job offer from my predecessor, mentor and friend, Marvella Fletcher. Little did I know, the “job” that I accepted would turn into a career. More than a career, my city service has been a passion!

In March, 1998 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to further my service to the city and was appointed as City Auditor and have been elected to that position since. I have had the opportunity to work with fantastic people, many who share my passion. I would like to particularly thank past and present employees who have worked as a part of my team, you ARE my extended family and I wish each of you the very best in life!

According to the Ohio Revised Code, Mayor Bowers will need to appoint an Acting Auditor, following my resignation, until the time the Darke County Republican Party chooses a successor.

I am very excited to accept different challenges while being able to serve the City of Marysville. To the citizens of Greenville, THANK YOU for the opportunity to serve you. It has been more meaningful to me than you will ever know. My best to all of you!

Nancy Myers
