Spirit to host informational health fair

Spirit Medical Transport, LLC, in a cooperative effort with numerous other local healthcare providers from across Darke County and beyond, will hold an informational health fair this coming Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Spirit offices located at 5484 Ohio Route 49 South, Greenville.

The fair is open to anyone in the public interested in obtaining helpful information about services that can help you or your loved ones either now or in the future.

Linda Hartzell, public relations coordinator, for Spirit Medical Transport, LLC, said admission to the event is free and light refreshments will be served to those in attendance.

“Everyone is encouraged to come and see what kinds of services are available to the great people of Darke County and how these various organizations are best suited to meet the needs of those who either have a need now or may have one in the future,” Hartzell explained. “It’s an excellent opportunity to learn and have fun all at the same time.”

Because the fair was designed in a small-scale setting, Hartzell said this will allow attendees the distinct opportunity to get their questions answered in a one-on-one setting.

Hartzell said there has been an outpouring of interest from local vendors to participate and share information about their services to those who have an interest.

“We appreciate the interest that has been shown by those who have pre-registered to participate,” Hartzell said. “This will be our first-time of ever hosting such an event, but the vendors seem very enthusiastic about sharing information for the good of everyone who is able to attend.”

Among those area businesses participating thus far are Spirit Medical Transport, Village Green Health Care Center; Brethren Retirement Community, Versailles Healthcare Center, Union City Care Center, Oakley House, Comprehensive Health, Omni Home Healthcare, Acclaim Hospice and Palliative Care, The Scooter Store, Littman Thomas Insurance, We Knead U, St. Vincent’s STAT Flight, Community Blood Center and Zechar Bailey Funeral Home.

Spirit owners Brian K. Hathaway, Aaron Guthrie, and Josh Spradling are excited about the public and business interests in hosting this year’s health fair. They encourage everyone to participate, ask questions, and seek out needed information.

“The motto of our company is Our Family Taking Care of Your Family,” Hathaway said. “Therefore, we are committed to making sure the families we’ve pledged to serve are educated about the services available to them in this community, no matter what type of service level that may be.”

Hathaway said the informational event shows the companies commitment and willingness to work hand in hand with area businesses and the general public for the ultimate goal of service excellence.

“This is a collaborative effort that is for the ultimate good of the whole,” he explained. “As service providers who each have a customer base, we must work together towards one common goal – the goal of serving God’s great people with the very best services they can come to know and trust.”

Those wishing to obtain additional information about the informational health fair can contact Hartzell at 937-548-2800 ext. 210 or feel free to stop in on Thursday anytime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
