Wayne Cinema to close?

Update: I've heard from several sources that a sale of the theater is pending, but it couldn't be said to whom just yet, but each person I spoke to said they fully expect the change to be a positive one overall. Stay tuned...

Wayne Cinema usually closes each year during fair week, and the marquee right now seems to indicate just that (... except that the fair will end this year with a week left in August).

However, Wayne Cinema is owned by Teicher Theaters. And right now the Teicher Theaters webpage reads: "All Theaters closed. Thank you for your patronage!"

The Bradenton Herald is reporting that Al Teicher has decided to close all of his theaters, including Wayne. But there is no mention as to whether operations will continue with a new owner. We will follow the story and report further developments.
