Peace Pipe on Display

The Darke County Parks has been fortunate to have an 1814 Peace Pipe on display for the past several months. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to come out and view the pipe, it will only be on display through Prairie Days (September 27th and 28th).

Time is limited to see the pipe before it must return to the Kansas City Museum! This is one of three silver peace pipes gifted to the Native American Indian Tribes at the signing of the second Treaty of Greenville in 1814. The Grand Opening of the Tecumseh Room in the Nature Center was held on July 24th and the room will also be open for viewing.
