Indiana health care reform, HIP 2.0 topic of public forum Tuesday at Reid

A public information session on Medicaid and Indiana health care reform is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Lingle Auditorium at Reid.

The session will focus on issues such as the pending Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0, Gov. Mike Pence’s proposal to increase coverage for thousands of Indiana residents, and the future of this and other programs in the state.

Representatives on hand will include staff from ClaimAid, a Reid partner that specializes in helping find programs to cover the uninsured, and Reid Patient Financial Services.

"With so many changes to health care coverage options in Indiana, it is important that members of the public seek out the educational resources that are available,” said J Hopkins, Vice President of ClaimAid. “Reid Hospital and ClaimAid are dedicated to working with patients to ensure that they make the beset health care coverage choices for both the individual and their family.”

Chris Knight, Reid Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, said the program is specifically about Indiana programs. “Reid’s focus is on the approximately 8,000 uninsured population in our region and the estimated 350,000 in the state who will have access to affordable coverage the new HIP 2.0,” Knight said.
