Dayton Man Airlifted After Hitting a Utility Pole on US 127

On January 25, 2015 at approximately 4:01 am Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire, Tri-Village Rescue and Indiana University Air Life Line were dispatched to the 3900 block of US Route 127 in reference to a single vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2001 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jordan Perry, 19, Dayton, Ohio was southbound on US Route 127. Perry traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a utility pole.  Perry was trapped in the vehicle until New Madison Fire department extracted him by mechanical means. The 3900 block of US Route 127 was closed for approximately 3 hours.

Perry was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by Indiana University Air Life Line where his condition is unknown.

The Darke County Accident Reconstruction Team was also called to the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
