Pets of the week

GREENVILLE - The Darke County Animal Shelter has many pets available for adoption, including several breeds of dogs, as well as cats and kittens. The Friends of the Shelter choose pets to feature each week, this week they've selected:

Trooper is a 6 year old Golden Retriever/Husky mix. He is tan and white with short hair. He is a playful guy who loves attention. He weighs around 60 pounds and will make a great friend and companion. He is waiting to be adopted.

Harley is an 8 year old Pomeranian. He is black and tan with long hair. He has been altered, is current on his shots and is housebroken. He does have accidents once in a while. He loves to be around people and wants to be part of the family. He is a little guy and would love to sit at home and watch TV with you. He is waiting to be adopted.

They also have a red tick coon dog, a Shepherd mix, a collie mix, a beagle, a Husky mix, a black lab and numerous other dogs as well as cats and kittens for adoption.

The Shelter hours are 8am till 4:30pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 till noon on Saturday. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Road in Greenville, and the phone number is 547-1645.

Remember with frozen ponds and streams around, be sure your dogs stay away from the open water. If they fall in, sometimes they won’t be able to get themselves out.

You can get your license online at www.doglicense.us/oh/darke . ALL DOGS OVER 3 MONTHS OF AGE MUST HAVE A LICENSE.
