"CONSTITUTION WEEK" Sept. 17-23 Proclamation

Joining Darke County Commissioners, Mike Rhoades, Mike Stegall, , and Diane Delaplane are Fort GeeneVille DAR members, Mary Jane Dietrich, Helen Wright, and Caroline Petitjean , and Field Representative for the Office of Rep. John Boehner ,Tristan Weis.

On Sept 2. , Darke County Commissioners signed a proclamation declaring Sept. 17-23 as "CONSTITUTION WEEK" for all Darke County citizens. The proclamation was at the request of the Fort GreenVille Chapter of the DAR. Nationally, The Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress to set aside Sept. 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of CONSTITUTUON WEEK which President Dwight Eisenhower signed into public law on Aug. 2 ,1956.

Sept. 17, 201marks the 228th anniversary of the drafting on the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention.

The Commissioners have asked Darke County citizens to reaffirm the ideals the framers of the Constitution had in 1787.
