Darke County Health Department Offering Flu Shot Clinics

The Darke County Health Department is gearing up for the Flu season! We will be giving Flu Vaccine at several locations this year. Our first public clinic will be held at the Health Department, 300 Garst Ave, Greenville, on Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 9:00 – 4:00 pm. This is a walk-in clinic for ages 6 months and up. The cost of the Flu Vaccine is $30.00 if paying cash. We can also bill some private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid if a current card is presented.

Then our next scheduled public clinic for Flu vaccines will be at the Wayne Hospital Health Fair on Tuesday October 13, from 8 am until 4 pm. This is located at the Fairgrounds. Our regular Immunization Clinic will remain open this day as usual, 8-10:30 am and 2-5:00 pm.

The City/County Employee Health Fair will be held on October 15 at Romer’s this year. This clinic is for all County and City employees.

The Darke County Health Department will be administering Flu vaccine on Saturday, October 17, from 9 am to 11 am at Tri-Village Rescue, and is open to the public.

We also have a Flu clinic scheduled at the Bradford Public Library on Thursday, October 22 from 4-6:30 pm, to which the public is invited.

Since an annual Flu vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older, we hope that these extra clinics will help the public in planning to get immunized!

The Health Department is also administering Flu vaccine, along with all our other vaccines, at our weekly clinic on Tuesdays, 8 am to 10:30 am, and 2 pm to 5 pm, 300 Garst Avenue, Greenville. No appointment needed.

Our Flu vaccine this year is again the Quadrivalent type, having 4 strains as opposed to just 3 strains, providing more protection. We do have a limited supply of the live nasal Flumist, for ages 2 yrs through 18 years. Please make it a priority this year to get immunized and stay healthy! Please call the Health Department with any questions or concerns, 937-548-4196, or check out our website at www.darkecountyhealth.org.
