VOISARD WINS GRANDPARENT’S DAY CONTEST AT VERSAILLES HEALTH CARE CENTER

Hanna Voisard, a 5th grader at Versailles Middle School, recently won a Halloween gift basket from Versailles Health Care Center. Fourth and fifth grade students at Versailles Middle School were asked to participate in a Grandparent’s Day contest held by Versailles Health Care Center and write a short essay titled “What is Grand about your Grandparent?” Submitted essays were read by VHCC residents and patients and Voisard’s essay was chosen as the winner! VHCC then welcomed Voisard and her grandpa, Stanley Richards, of Ansonia, for lunch, and residents, patients, and staff enjoyed listening to Voisard read her essay to them.

National Grandparents Day, first proposed by a West Virginia housewife and made official by a Presidential Declaration in 1978, is a wonderful opportunity to express appreciation for our older generation. National Grandparent’s Day is always the first Sunday after Labor Day. The residents, patients and staff of Versailles Health Care Center would like to thank all who participated in this year’s Grandparent’s Day contest.
