Pets of the week


GREENVILLE - The Darke County Animal Shelter has many pets available for adoption, including several breeds of dogs, as well as cats and kittens. The Shelter chooses pets to feature each week, this week they've selected:

Obie is a 4 year old Shiba Inu/Rottweiler mix. He is a black and brown with short hair. He is a friendly guy and weighs around 50 pounds. He doesn’t care much for other dogs but will make a nice one dog friend. He is current on his shots and is looking for a good home and is ready for adoption.

Sage is a 4 year old Husky mix. He is a black and tan with some gray on his face. He is a nice guy and a little laid back. He is current on his shots and appears very healthy. He is looking for a good home to relax and have fun. He is ready for adoption.

Toby is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd. He is brown and white with long hair. He is a friendly guy and is full of energy. He will make a great companion and friend. He is current on his shots and is ready for adoption.

They also have a blond Labrador, a terrier, a Mastiff mix, a Catahoula Leopard dog, Border collie mix and numerous other dogs as well as cats and kittens for adoption.

The Shelter hours are 8am till 4:30pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 till noon on Saturday. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Road in Greenville, and the phone number is 547-1645.

Get your pet’s picture taken with Santa Claus on November 21st at Wal-Mart. This is a fun event and will be held from 10am till 2pm at Wal-Mart Garden Center in Greenville. Pictures are only $4.00 and the proceeds will go to the “Darke County Friends of the Shelter. All animals are welcome and so are your kids and family. Bring your companion animals through the Garden Center entrance.
