New Year’s Eve Gala Helps Build Homes

Destination Known Missions Ministry of EUM Church in Greenville, Ohio is in its tenth year partnering with the Potter’s House Association in Guatemala. Over the years, teams from EUM Church have built fourteen homes for families that live in the garbage dump shanty communities. They have visited countless families in their homes to pray with them, and to share Jesus with them in real and practical ways by installing wood burning cook stoves, provided much needed food to families, and passing out Bibles. Destination Known wants to continue building homes for families in the shanty communities; however, due to the increased cost of building supplies, funding these homes has become more difficult.

A New Year’s Eve Gala will be hosted by Destination Known with 100% of the proceeds being used to build homes for families living in the Guatemala City dump communities. This will be a great time to dress up and enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing, and ring in the new year with family and friends. This is an alcohol free event that will be held at Romer’s Catering in Greenville beginning at 8:00 pm on December 31.

There will also be a live auction with some great things to bid on. Items include a half carat diamond from Weiland Jewelers, Kitchen Aid mixer from Kitchen Aid, a 6 month family membership from the YMCA, tickets for Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates donated by their respective organizations, autographed hat and memorabilia from Cleveland Cavaliers, a handmade cupboard built and donated by John Wion, gift baskets from Judy Roth, ¼ beef from John Hathaway Jr. Family and processed by Carl Hunt Custom Butchering, corn hole games donated by Waymire Utility Barns, tool box and tools donated by Ace Hardware and Sears, Illumination box seats (6) donated by the Illumination Committee, OSU lockers given anonymously, and more!

Tickets are on sale now! The cost is $50 per person or $85 per couple. Reserved seating is also available for $350 for a table of 8. Tickets may be purchased at EUM Church, A&B Coffee and Cakes, Dave Knapp Ford Lincoln, and Romer's Catering.
