Darke County Center for the Arts will close this season's Coffeehouse Series on Thursday, April 21, at Montage Cafe in downtown Greenville with a show featuring acoustic duo Alex Poteet and Noah Cope playing American roots music blended with rock and pop. According to DCCA Artistic Director Keith Rawlins, “Noah and Alex” had been involved in several musical projects before teaming up in 2013 after finding common ground in a love of great songwriters both past and present. “Their influences include Ray LaMontagne, Jackson Brown, John Mayer, and Glen Campbell,” Mr. Rawlins explained. “They cover memorable music by timeless artists to perform an engaging, entertaining show that will please audiences of all ages,” Rawlins concluded.

Noah Cope is not new to DCCA audiences, having played previously in the Coffeehouse performance by Wingwalkers a few years ago as well as accompanying popular songstress Lisa Biales in her appearances in Greenville. Exhibiting his eclectic talents, Noah also toured nationally for several years as the upright bassist in the pit orchestra for The Phantom of the Opera. Alex Poteet, who says that he was originally influenced by blues and folk greats, has been playing music professionally since the age of eighteen. Now in his early twenties, Alex is currently writing original material for a planned upcoming album.

DCCA's Coffeehouse Series presents performances in congenial venues with a casual social atmosphere where food and drink are also available for purchase. The series is sponsored by Julie and Tom Graber, Eileen and Steve Litchfield, and Rodney Oda. The Ohio Arts Council helps fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. DCCA also receives operating support from the Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial as well as funding from the Ketrow Foundation and Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund.

Tickets for the performance by “Noah and Alex” cost $10, and can be reserved by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net, or purchased at DCCA's office located within Greenville Public Library as well as online at www.CenterForArts.net. If any remain by showtime, tickets will also be available at the door. The show starts at 7 p.m.
