Arts Night: see. hear. do.

The Preble County Art Association (PCAA) presents Arts Night on July 21, from 6pm-8pm at the Visual Art Center of Preble County. This event is a collaboration between the PCAA and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra (RSO) focused on celebrating art and music in an interactive setting. The evening will feature the opening exhibit of work by artists Chris Shatsby and Terry Vance, live performance by The Wing Walkers and free activities including instrument making, clay, origami and pastel projects and an instrument petting zoo. All activities are free and provided by the PCAA and the RSO with support from West End Bank.

The exhibit is a two-person show featuring local pastel artist, Chris Shatsby of Lewisburg, Ohio and his long-time friend, potter, Terry Vance of Hillsboro, Ohio. Shatsby, now 83 years old, currently works in abstract pastels but retired from Wright State University as a ceramics instructor. Vance was a student of Shatsby and went on to teach art for 36 years. Now she is retired and pursuing her own clay interests. Whether you’re looking to buy art or just want to be inspired, this duo show will not disappoint. Their works will be on display from July 21 - Sept 30th.

The Wing Walkers include Michael Kalter on guitar and lead vocals; Doug Hamilton, on violin and Noah Cope on upright bass. The Wing Walkers perform in Ohio and Indiana. More information about the trio can be found at http://www.thewingwalkersband.com.

The Visual Arts Center of Preble County is located at 601 Hillcrest Drive in Eaton, Ohio. Regular business hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1-6pm, and late until 8pm on Thursdays.
