DCCA ANNOUNCES CAST FOR MCT'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND

An outstanding cast has been chosen for Darke County Center for the Arts' presentation of Missoula Children's Theatre's Alice In Wonderland. Two performances of the musical play based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale will be presented on Saturday, August 6 at St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville. Curtain time for the matinee is 3 p.m.; the evening performance is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.

An outstanding cast has been chosen for Darke County Center for the Arts' presentation of Missoula Children's Theatre's Alice In Wonderland. Following just five lively days of intense rehearsals, two performances of the musical play based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale will be presented on Saturday, August 6 at St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville. Curtain time for the matinee is 3 p.m.; the evening performance is at 7 p.m.

As Alice evolves and grows throughout the story, three girls are required to play the title role; Sarah Crumrine has been cast as Tall Alice, Katherine Kauffman is Middle Alice, and Bella Gulley will be Small Alice. Alice's older sister Margaret will be acted by Tessa Tyo. The King, Queen, and Knave of Hearts who rule over Wonderland will be played by Aaron Buchy, Allie Tanner, and Isaac White. Lydia Ayette, Sarah Buchy, Jaelyn Chrisman, Charlie Dickey, Danielle Francis, Eliya Harshbarger, Kaitlynn Lipps, Molly Phelan, Anna Stump, and Phebe Todd will portray the Queen's loyal subjects, The Cards.

Mad Hatter will be played by Maxwell Jordan; Mason Shuttleworth has the role of March Hare. Kaylee Phelan will appear as Gryphon, while Mock Turtle will be acted by Cameron Clark. Humpty Dumpty will be played by Isaac Gulley, and Anabelle May has the role of Dormouse.

Reagan Herndon and Ella Williams will perform as The Duchess and The Cook; Fish and Frog will be played by Kamdon Riethman and Shane Benedict. The dynamic duo Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum will be acted by Evan Van Skyock and Henry Jordan.

The Caterpillar who helps Alice along her journey will be performed by Katelyn Conway, Elise Hays, Delaney Murphy, Maria Sanfillipo, and Lucy Stiefel as the Body and Alia Ayette as the Head. Sophia Aultman, Gabby Spitzer, and Emma Tutwiler will appear as the mysterious, grinning Cheshire Cats.

The singing, dancing, rapping Flowers of Wonderland will be acted by Brianna Harshbarger, Grace Krauss, Trinity Layman, Leighana Rautsaw, Erin Stephens, and Abby Swensen. William Aultman, Zoe Ayette, Grace Burchur, Kaden Harrison, Isaac Hartings, Taylor Holzapfel, Molly Krauss, Nola Miley, Nesta May, Hallie Riethman, Ellie Sando, Lola Sando, Paul Todd, Kaitlyn Tollefson, and Daniel Williams will play Lobsters who live under the sea and also sing and dance.

Noah Brown, Matthew Francis, Preston Holton, and Kary Tollefson were chosen as Assistant Directors, providing backstage support to MCT Co-Directors Jay Echols and Abby Kohake throughout the week. Mr. Echols will also play the White Rabbit in this production. Mary Alice Newbauer is pianist for Alice In Wonderland.

The Missoula Children's Theatre residency is made possible by a grant from Darke County Endowment for the Arts. Darke County Center for the Arts also receives funding from memberships, local businesses, foundations, and the Ohio Arts Council.
