The Darke County Retired Teachers Association (DCRTA) will host its annual blood drive on Monday, August 9, 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., at Greenville Church of the Brethren, 421 Central Ave., Greenville. When you register to give blood, you will be automatically entered to win an Alaskan Cruise!
One DCRTA member who has donated blood many times wanted to stress the importance of this life-saving procedure. She said that she's donated many pints of blood, but is now having to depend on the generosity of other donors as she battles cancer. She is getting ready to receive her 24th transfusion and stresses that "you never know when you will be the one depending on the goodness of others who donate blood".
