SPECIAL PICTORIAL POSTMARK COMMEMORATES 160th ANNUAL GREAT DARKE COUNTY FAIR

GREENVILLE OH – The Greenville Post Office will be celebrating the 160th Great Darke County Fair by offering free commemorative pictorial postmarks.

Commemorative pictorial postmarks are considered highly collectible. The postmark will be available August 19-26 at the Great Darke County Fair Station located on the fairgrounds. Hours of operation at the station will be weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Those who wish to obtain the postmark through the mail may submit a mail-order request. Mail-order requests must be postmarked no later than September 18, 2016.

Requests must include a stamped envelope or postcard bearing at least the minimum First-Class $.47 postage or $.34 postcard postage. A self-addressed stamped envelope is required to return the commemoratively postmarked item(s).

Customers should affix stamps to any envelope or postcard of their choice, address the envelope or postcard to themselves or others, insert a card of postcard thickness in envelopes for sturdiness, and tuck in the flap. Place the envelope or postcard in a larger envelope and address it to:

The Great Darke County Fair Station
Special Cancellation Unit
P. O. Box 9998
Greenville OH 45331-9998

Customers may also send stamped envelopes and post-cards without addresses for postmark, as long as they supply a larger envelope with adequate postage and their return address. After applying the pictorial postmark, the Postal Service returns the items (with or without addresses) under addressed protective cover.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
