Stars in the Park - Finals August 5, 2016

Stars in the Park 2016 talent competition sponsored by the Jay County Chamber of Commerce reaches the final night on Friday August 5th when $2,500 in prize money will be awarded. During six previous events beginning May 18th and ending July 28th the field of 56 acts has been narrowed to the remaining 12 acts. Providing intermission entertainment during the finals will be last year’s Stars in the Park Champions, “Jamie Squared.” Performing in the finals on Friday evening at the Hudson Family Park Amphitheater on South Wayne Street in Portland beginning at 6:30 PM will be:

• Daisy Harker - Singer/Piano. 17 years and Younger (Hartford City Finalist)
• Todd Berry - Singer. 18 years and Older (38 years old. Muncie, Indiana)
• Hope Maloney - Hip Hop Dancer. 17 years and younger (Hartford City Finalist)
• Bryn Dippold - Singer. 17 years and younger (17 years old. Coldwater, Ohio)
• Regina Smith - Singer. 17 years and younger (Bluffton, Indiana)
• Abigail Poe - Singer. 17 years and younger (10 years old. Noblesville, Indiana)
• Samantha Chenoweth - Singer. 18 years and older (26 years old. Portland, Indiana)
• Hunter Lee - Singer/Guitar (Hartford City Finalist)
• Jenessa Smedley - Singer (Decatur, Indiana)
• Amarah Robles & Madalyn Blomeke - Dancers 17 years and younger. (Amarah - 10 years old from Geneva, Madalyn - 9 years old from Berne)
• Karlie Bullard & Matalin Racster - Singers. 17 years and younger (Karlie - Dunkirk, Matalin - Portland both are 15 years old.)
• Dick Stoner - Magician/Comedian. 18 years and older (86 years old. Fort Wayne, Indiana)

On Friday August 5th each of the these twelve acts will perform with the a judging system where the judges vote counts 67% and the audience vote counts 33%, during the final intermission ballots and judges votes will be tallied to determine the Grand Prize Winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up. The audience will also select a “fan favorite - 18 & over” and “fan favorite - 17 and under” from the remaining 9 contestants.

The Jay County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit member organization that serves the communities of Bryant, Dunkirk, Pennville, Portland and Redkey all in Jay County, Indiana.
