VERSAILLES HEALTH CARE CENTER WELCOMES CHILDREN FOR HALLOWEEN FUN

L to R: VHCC short-term rehab patient, Carol Hoop, long-term care resident Treva Meiring, and long-term care resident Loretta Bay.
VHCC long-term care resident Mildred Dill.
The patients, residents, and staff of Versailles Health Care Center welcomed over 200 children to the health care center for a fun-filled afternoon of trick-or-treating. Prior to the afternoon, patients and residents spent an afternoon sorting candy and getting ready for the Halloween fun! The children included neighborhood kids, grandchildren of patients and residents, and employees’ kids. The kids dressed up as princesses, witches, cowboys and cowgirls, pirates, and much more!

“It was amazing to see all the work some of the family members put into creating just the right costume for their children,” Kim Fair, Activities Director, said. “We began trick or treat fifteen minutes early because the halls were crowded with children ready to visit the patients and residents! There was a steady stream of children and family members in costumes until the very last minute of the event! Our residents and patients filled baskets until we ran out of candy! Thanks to everyone, we had just enough candy!” Fair would like to thank Phelan Insurance and the Versailles Dollar Store, as well as VHCC staff, family and friends of patients and residents for donating candy for the event.
