CAP Emergency Funds

Community Action Partnership has Emergency Funds Available to Darke County residents who may have fallen into a Financial Hardship.

This project provides “one-time” payment assistance, when no other resources are available to meet the need.

For the purpose of determining eligibility to receive financial assistance, an “emergency” is a situation which possesses all of the following characteristics: it arose recently and unexpectedly; created an immediate need for financial assistance; and it was not caused or created by the unreasonable conduct of the applicant. This is sometimes called a “hardship”.

It must be a “non-deferrable” need, Vendor payment only. The payment from Community Action Partnership, together with the customers’ other funds must “solve the problem”. The customer must have adequate income to cover future expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Darke County resident
  • CSBG Eligible: Total gross household income is at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • No other resources are available to meet the need
  • Current participation in a Community Action Program. (Service within the past 30 days)
  • Have not received assistance for the same need in the previous 12 months.
