Robinson Student Career Center Ground Breaking Ceremony

President Doreen Larson and many others break ground on what will become the new Robinson Student Career Center at Edison State Community College.
Edison State Community College enjoyed a successful ground breaking ceremony for the Robinson Student Career Center on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Over 120 individuals were in attendance to witness President of Edison State, Doreen Larson, Thom and Pat Robinson and multiple representatives and community leaders break ground for the new center at Edison State. The new addition will be integrated onto the west hall building of the college and will serve as a catalyst for students by helping to bridge the gap in the employment process.

Special thanks to Thom and Pat Robinson for their continued support of Edison State and for making the vision of the Robinson Student Career Center a reality. The Robinsons have been involved for many years in the advancement and promotion of higher education.

Speakers at the event included Ben Thaeler, Deputy District Director from Representative Warren Davidson’s Office; Bill Beagle, State Senator; Steve Huffman, State Representative; Gary Cates, Senior Vice Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education; Tom Fernandez, Executive Vice President of SHP Leading Design; Tom Milligan, Chairman of the Edison State Community College Board of Trustees and Stan Evans, Past Chairman of The Edison Foundation.

Through detailed planning and strategic positioning, the Robinson Student Career Center will come to fruition in the fall of 2019 and will become a beacon for student career development in the future. This project is in addition to the opening of the new Edison State Troy campus, which will be opening Jan. 2019, and have a focus on the allied health field.
