  10. I remember growing up and being up at the Elks lodge for many events with my parents. Dick was always around and even though I was only single digits in age, he always had time to listen to us, joke with us or have fun with us.

I remember in particular, a party at his house back in the 80's where Dick had an old computer and he set it up for the kids to play games on it. I would play a game for 15-20 minutes and then go get Dick to come and change the game for me. Despite being in conversations with other adults, he always stopped, came over and helped me and tried to teach me how to do it. I remember him with a big smile on his face, jokingly saying after the 4th or 5th time "I thought computers were supposed to make life easier?" :-) For some reason that always stuck with me, and I still use the line today while working on computers. I'll definitely miss him and I'd like to express my sympathy to Susan and the family. Rest in peace Dick.
