  1. Holiday Season, Bah humbug. If it was not for Christmas it would only be New Years day. That would be the only holiday to celebrate.
Even if you thik you don't believe in the birth of Christ but you are partaking in the benefits of the holiday you are admitting that there is a Christmas.

  2. Man... are you a downer of a person.I believe in the Birth of Christ, therefore I celebrate the season. However, I have no problem with anyone that takes part in or enjoys anything that is associated with the "holiday" season. What's wrong with making oneself happy for a few weeks out of the year? Do some soul searching, bro. You only have one life-live it well.

  3. IF YOU DONT LIKE XMAS,AND YOU DONT BELIEVE IN THE BIRTH OF CHRIST,THEN KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND STAY AT HOME AND EAT A COLD MEAT SANDWICH,BY YOURSELF

  5. Maybe I didn't say it like I was meaning or some people can't understand what I was saying.
I do believe in both Christmas and Jesus.
What I was trying to convey was if you take Christ and Christmas out of the celebration of the holidays then all you have left is New Year eve and New Years. The majority of the people that celebrate New years are doing it to for the purpose of getting together with a group of people and the center of the focus is to have a well supplied bar or refrigerator.
In conclusion I am NOT a scrooge. I just wish folks would remind people when someone wishes them "have a happy holidays" the response from all true Christ believing Christians is "And I hope you have a Merry Christmas too".
Recently there was a story on the local TV news that some of the retail stores that had droped the word Christmas in favor of using Holidays in their advertisements are going back to it. They have found that some people refused to shop in those stores. They shop for Christmas.

  6. You should have written that the first time because your original post did not convey that meaning or opinion at all. Glad to know that you don't live alone, under a rock, next to the dump!

  7. I ahd typed out a well reasoned response and then found that i cannot type soemthing in notepad and then copy it into here. bummer.

The short version... I'm not a practicing Christian, in fact, I'd prob consider myself athiest. My relious affilian doesn't really concern me in day to day life. Should I be disqualified from "your" holiday then? Christmas is about many more things than Jesus' birthday.

I also have no problem with a cashier telling me happy holidays. In fact, it could be argued that wishing a specific holiday (even though 99% might be celebrating Christmas), is presumptuous and therefore impolite.

Having said that, I have no issue with hearing Merry Christmas either. I don't understand how a slight difference in semantics can cause such heartburn in some people.

  9. Yes...it was. The first post caused all this. Perhaps Bob has learned a posting lesson. As for the mill.......I love it there and I'm hoping to enjoy it during the Christmas season with my family.
