Drunken idiot breaks Wieland's front window

The perfect crime: get drunk at the bar ... walk down to the alley ... pick up a brick ... throw it through Wieland's front window ... passing at least one security camera along the way. The brick-thrower has reportedly already been identified and charged.

Wieland's lost nothing because all the valuable stuff goes in the vault every night (take note criminals).

We'll make the criminal famous right here when his name is released.

  1. The new store is nice, and I hate to say this...but moving across the street so close to that dump bar was not a bright idea.

  2. It would seem that now is the time for the city to consider going after their liquor licenses. In the past year or so there has been one fight where someone ended up getting flown to a trauma center, another fight where someone ended up dead, several broken windows at Bach to Rock, another broken window at Wielands.
And how many other fights where the police and rescue were called?
Downtown doesn't need these business's patrons wrecking havok every weekend.

  5. It's not just Sportsterz, Danny's and Shagnastys are also guilty.
As for the "dead guy"? there was a fight, he ended up dead, those are facts, draw your own conclusions.

  6. Unless the college kids are home on a break, the downtown bar scene would clear out if a parole officer walked in.

  7. Parole officers are in there every weekend at least one night.I do agree they do need to change there location. How long have they been up there?I no Dannys and shagnastys has been there for 20 years im not sure about sportsters.

  8. It's not the bar owners fault that people can't handle their alcohol. They are just running a buisness of their own.

  9. The bar owners are at fault- Their business (product or service)should not cause damage anything off their premisis.
The state liquor control board feels very differently about this also--- control your patrons or bye bye to your liquor license.

  10. The coroner decided despite being punched and bodyslammed (on camera mind you) that he died from natural causes.

  11. Set aside death, broken windows, and fights. IF YOU CANT HANDLE ALCOHOL, DONT DRINK IT..... Its sad to say that the majority of people getting into trouble up town (fights, broken windows, etc) are "LOW LIFES" thats right I said it. Greenville is becoming increasingly welfare inhabited and they have nothing to do with there time other than drink and cause trouble, oh yeah, and go to Krogers and buy 25 lbs of crab legs and 25 lbs of filet mignon, no joke, saw it the other day. I make $50,000 plus a year and cant afford to eat like that, only on rare occasions........

  13. Jan 19, 2:29 - Be sure to check out Wal-Mart and the shopping areas on "welfare check day." I was making a run one afternoon to Wal-Mart on "welfare check day" to grab something while on a day off from work to help a family member and I had to park out near Wagner Ave. When I finally got what I wanted through the mob of scary folks (I should have started that "PeopleOfWalMart.com" site just from the pics I could have taken that day!), I had to stand in line a while and finally got to checking out. Once I was checked out, I walked by an employee doing some sort of "books" at the ends of the checkout registers and said "Wow, you sure are busy today!" She looked up from her books, looked left and right to see if anyone else was close enough to hear her and said softly "Welfare check day. Same thing every time."

I won't even go into some of the things that were being bought because who knows for sure if the person buying them was actually on welfare or not.

  14. Has anyone else noticed that alot of the "Bar" problems started after the ban on smoking insead them. Humm one set of peple taking the rights of others away. And we wonder why we are going downhill.

  15. and what makes it any of your buisness what someone buys at WalMart, there is nothing illegal being sold there. And "the mob of scary folks" who are you to judge what others look like. And the bar owners didnt throw a brick threw the window, so why on earth would anyone think that the bar owners should be responsible for someone eles's actions. And you might want to watch what you say about welfare, you may be there sooner than you think!

Nahhhh, Im pretty sure that my job is secure, and if it wasnt I wouldnt take the easy way out and go on welfare and use food stamps, I would do my best to find another job, or two or three, i have worked multiple jobs at one time to assure financial stability. I do believe that some people in a financial blunder do take the easy way out and abuse the government financially, and people like myself who work damn hard for the money in their pockets end up paying for it, so yes, I have a right to be a little upset. I am not saying that all people on welfare are bad people, just so thats clear. But there are scumbags that lay the ground work for the people who are good people and on welfare.

  17. Everyone has a SSN correct? To deal with the "Welfare problem.----FIX: Each SSN only gets 24months of gratuity( aka WELFARE). After that sorry bout your luck. I will help buy a oneway ticket anywhere you would like to go. How many 3rd - 4th generation welfare folks do we have not only in this area but the entire nation.

  18. Anon @ 11:12 p.m. - Did someone call you "scary" as a child? :)

I don't think the point of the post was to show any anger towards people on welfare. Hence the reason judgment was reserved on who was buying what. It was pointing out to another poster that if they want to see just how many people in the city/county are on welfare, head to Wal-Mart when the checks are distributed. It is the closest thing you will see to Black Friday on days when you aren't still bloated from Thanksgiving.

And unemployment is certainly not a fun thing to have to go on, but getting OFF of unemployment should be everyone's goal.

  20. Greenville is full of rednecks, on welfare and not on welfare...plain and simple fact!

  21. Welfare, not just for poor people any more.IF they didnt recieve help were do you think they would be homeless and probably sleeping in your front yard.

  22. I just wondered how long it would take for a drunk to bust out Wieland's window!! I am still shocked that they would set up shop right beside a bar after being at their location for what 25-30 years! Downtown is turning into little dayton though, that's for sure, esp. thur, fri & Sat. nite.

  23. Gosh, Downtown Greenville had 1 incident of a broken window, You people are making it sound like the people of Greenville are all drunks!

  24. to all the people or or particular person, you think welfare and food stamps are for lowlife people, well I work my butt off for minimum wage and only get a small amount of child support from my three kids' father because he IS one of those who don't try,but as for me I do get food stamps but I don't buy the most expensive things at the store I support my three kids with them! You are talking trash about state assistance, with the way the economy is,no matter what kind of job you have you could be unemployed at the drop of a dime,so don't knock it because you might need it one day!!!!!
