The D.A.R.E. House is no more

All that remains of the D.A.R.E. House is part of its basement, which was being dismantled in this photo. That's the old Visitation House in the background ... likely the next to go. These buildings are on Sycamore Street in Greenville.

  1. Another ugly hole in the uptown area, just what we need.

  2. Isn't that going to be a parking lot for our fabulous and much need over the top Court House ?

  4. Greenville is definitely not a town that perserves history. They would rather have a parking lot for vistors to see. We no longer have the unique State theater or depot because it is easier to knock them down then to fix them up!

  8. I hope someone was able salvage some of the old woodwork and such from these old buildings. It would be a shame to tear them down and not salvage something.
