WHIOtv.com: Four Darke County Teens Hospitalized After Mixing Bath Salts with Soda
Four Darke County teens were hospitalized after abusing the bath salts drug. It seems like these stories are happening more frequently and with escalating ramifications. WHIOtv.com has the story
Scary what is going on in our own little town. My question is though...where were the parents of these children? Especially the 13 year old. WAKE UP PARENTS!!!! Not just the parents of these children....I'm talking about ALL parents.
I dont think that's an excuse, it's the truth. I think most parents try to teach their kids right from wrong, but kids don't always listen....they experiment for themselves...some get caught/in trouble....some don't.... I'm just hoping they will be ok.
We should'nt be quick to judge these parents. Parents struggle daily because their children "went down another path" other than what the parents taught, by example even, NOT just words, that is NO fault of the parent. Please lets just pray that all will be ok and learn from this experience.
As the blame game is playing out the real issue is the drug "bath salt" is a synthetic and dangerous drug that is easily obtain from stores and gas stations and not against the law to buy. In addition, there are people who do not know the diffence between bath salt you use in the bathtub and the drug "bath salt". For children safety parents and the public needs to understand the drug to teach children how dangerous this drug is. Futhermore children also have to be taught just because you can buy a product over the counter does not mean it is not harmful and very dangerous.
Does anyone know if 'bath salts' are being sold by any Greenville business? I will not knowingly patronize any business that contributes to this problem.
I had great parents who definitely taught me right from wrong, but when you are away from home and with friends and peer pressure sets in, I don't care how much you were taught, kids are going to experiment and do what their friends do just so to fit in. So you can't always blame the parents...even the best ones kids end up going down the wrong path.
Parents, don't be afraid to check up on your child if you sense something is wrong. We get a feeling as parents when you think something could be wrong, or something is up. Sometimes checking up on them is the only way to find out. Talk with other parents, do what it takes to stay involved and informed of what your kids are doing. In some cases you could prevent something terrible from happening, and sometimes you will be glad to find out your kids are doing exactly what they told you they would be doing.
Instead of just blaming the parents. Why aren't we blaming the store that sold these things. Why if stores sell this junk don't the citizens boycott the stores. Put economic pressure on them to remove this junk from the shelves. Come on people put your money where your mouth is it is the easiest thing to do!
If you raise your kids right, they won't want to try this stuff in the first place. I know it's a shocker to some in this town, but not every kid grows up doing drugs, or trying to snort household products of their noses. The ones that do, usually end up being far from the sharpest of the bunch anyways.
