OK, Darke Countians, Time to Be a Budget Hero

We've been commenting and chatting about the budget/deficit/debt ceiling crisis for what feels like an eternity. Everyone has different views on what should done, what should be cut (or spent), what taxes should be increased (or lowered), etc.

Now, American Public Media has put together an easy to use game where you can pick different options of cuts and increases, etc and see the affect each action would have on the budget, deficit and debt, not just right now but also projected over the next 25 years or so. The numbers used (unless otherwise noted) all come from the Congressional Budget Office.

Click on the image below for much more information on how to play and let us know how you do (note, one of the first screens asks you for your name and email address, etc, but you are able to leave it all blank and continue on as if you had entered the info, it is NOT required to play).

  1. Wow, this thing is pretty cool! I made all the cuts necessary and the reply was "Wow, you just saved the country and proved to be a fiscal genius! You must be Republican!"

    Pretty accurate...
