Darke County Special Olympics qualified and sent all three of their softball teams to the State Tournament in Oregon (Toledo), Ohio on September 10, 2011. Thirty-eight athletes, six coaches, and several fans made the trip. Darke County was the only program in the state represented by three teams in the sixteen team/four division tournament. Results from the tournament: Division I-Diamond Dawgs are State Champs/Gold Medal, Division II-Sluggers took 4th place, Division III-Warriors won 3rd place/Bronze Medal.
