Muscovy Ducklings in the Greenville Park, Photos from Cherie Frost

The Muscovy a large duck that is found in all parts of the worlds, but are native to Mexico, Central and South America. The drake (male) is a large duck measuring about 76 cm in length and weighting up to 15 pounds. The hen (female) are normally half the size of the males weighting 7 pounds. The hen lays between 8 - 16 white eggs, which are incubated for 35 days.

The Greenville City Park has a total of seven adult Muscovies which include 3 drakes and 4 hens. On June 1, 2013, one of the hens had a total of 12 Muscovy ducklings.
