Please Come and Join Us!

The Versailles Area Historical Society invites you to their Dedication and Ribbon Cutting for the museum on Thursday evening June 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. on the museum grounds. The museum located at the corner of St. Rt. 121 and West Streets in the former Versailles Medical Center.

The recently remodeled building offers over twenty plus display rooms featuring the history of our area including all the villages in our school district plus Osgood and Russia. The amazing collections prepared for June include a salute to the history of Poultry Days, a Military room, a redecorated School and Fire room. We also will give a glimpse at Scouting in our community. Remember Great Grandma’s kitchen and garden? Do you recall all the canning and those delicious meals from what they preserved? We will have a special place in this summers’ display to recall those bygone days (and all the hard work) in those farm kitchens in our area. An enlarged area features the history of business in our area.

Bring your lawn chairs and join us at 7:00 p.m. as we Dedicate our new museum to all those who have come before us as we tell their story.

Following the thirty minute program we invite you to tour all 22 rooms, enjoy some cookies and relive our glorious past with friends and neighbors.

We hope you’ll join us for this special event and join us often during our Poultry Day’s 2013. Our hours will be from noon to 8:00 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will also be open on June 18th from 9:00 to 4:00 for the GOBA event in the village.

If you are not a member you may want to consider joining this fast growing organization as we strive to preserve our unique history for future generations.
