Pets of the week


GREENVILLE - The Darke County Animal Shelter has many pets available for adoption, including several breeds of dogs, as well as cats and kittens. The Friends of the Shelter choose pets to feature each week, this week they've selected: Boomer is a 2 year old Great Pyrenees. He is white with long hair. He is a gentle giant and weighs around 90 pounds. He is a sweet guy who loves attention and is very playful. He is a big guy and is looking for a good home. He will make a great companion.

Larkin is a 10 month old Shepherd mix. He is black and tan with short hair. He is a friendly guy who loves people. He will make a wonderful family dog and companion. He will grow to around 50 pounds. He is full of energy and loves to play.

Zeek is a 1 year old Shepherd mix. He is black and brown with long hair. He is a very friendly guy who loves to play with people. He will make a wonderful family dog and companion. He will grow to around 50 pounds. He is loves to play.

They also have a Walker coon dog, a collie mix, a beagle mix, a Bull dog, a boxer mix and numerous other dogs as well as cats and kittens for adoption.

The Shelter hours are 8am till 4:30pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 till noon on Saturday. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Road in Greenville, and the phone number is 547-1645.

2015 dog license are on sale now. They can be purchased at Ace Hardware in Greenville and Versailles, Old National Bank in Union City, Birt’s store in New Weston, Osgood State Bank in Osgood, Patty’s IGA in Bradford, Suttons Super Value in Arcanum, Farmers State Bank in New Madison, and Veterinary & Poultry Supply in Ansonia, the Animal Shelter and the Auditor’s office.
