More Details on Greenville Jr High Girls' GWOC Tournament Win

As we originally told you about last Monday, The Greenville Junior High Softball team won the GWOC Middle School Softball Tournament Silver Bracket this past weekend in Centerville. During the first game of the Saturday tournament, the Jr High Lady Wave beat Springfield 14-4 with Faith Reigle picking up the win on three strikeouts. They then beat Fairborn 13-1 in game two as pitcher Allison Minnich struck out 13 Skyhawk batters setting up a championship game matchup versus West Carrolton. The Lady Wave picked up the GWOC Silver Bracket Tournament Championship after beating the Pirates 6-4 as Allison Minnich struck out 9 West Carrolton batters.

Leading the way with the bat in tournament play were, Stephanie Eikenberry who was 8-10 (.800) at the plate, Allison Minnich 9-12 (.750), and Ashton Kester 7-11 (.636). As a team the Lady Wave hit .531 during the tournament after hitting .415 during the regular season.

Allison Minnich struck out a combined 25 batters during the three tournament games.
