On September 6, 2011 at approximately 1325 hours, the Darke County 911 Center received a call requesting help in reference to a man that was observed holding a revolver up to the head of another family member inside the residence located at 2861 Cox Road.

Deputies from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office responded to that residence and learned that the male suspect involved had already left the residence and was the grandson of the victim. Family members confirmed that their grandson, 33 year old Justin D. Thomas, residing at 13394 North US127, North Star, Ohio, had pointed a revolver at his grandfather’s head during an argument over money. A description of Justin Thomas, the vehicle he was driving and his possible direction of travel were obtained and relayed to other responding Deputies.

At approximately 1349 hours, Deputies located Justin Thomas driving northbound on US127. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop in the area of Wabash-York Road where Mr. Thomas was taken into custody without incident on charges of Aggravated Robbery. No injuries were reported by the victim.

This case remains under investigation.
