DCCA HOLIDAY SHOW STARS PIANIST ROBIN SPIELBERG

Contemporary pianist/composer Robin Spielberg will be joined on stage by cellist Catherine Bent and Kate McLeod on violin and guitar to create “Robin Spielberg's American Tapestry” when the popular artist returns to Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall on Saturday, December 10. “Robin's spellbinding musical performance is enhanced by her delightful stories which weave a warm and winning tapestry emulating and inspiring the joy of the Christmas season,” stated DCCA Artistic Director Keith Rawlins. “The addition of Catherine and Kate's mesmerizing musical skills will create a memorable musical experience which will resonate throughout the holidays,” Mr. Rawlins said. The holiday concert begins at 8 p.m.

Robin Spielberg, a member of the prestigious Steinway Artist Roster who has sixteen recordings to her credit, made her Carnegie Hall debut in 1997, and has since performed there twice. “Robin is one of those artists who casts a spell on her audience as soon as she walks on stage; her performances just make you feel really good,” Mr. Rawlins said. In addition to her expressive piano technique, Ms. Spielberg is known for her story-telling which offers insight into the origins of the music as well as the artist's appealing personality.

“Robin Spielberg's American Tapestry” is sponsored by Jim and Enid Goubeaux and Greenville National Bank. Darke County Center for the Arts also receives financial support from Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial, Ketrow Foundation, and the Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund. Additionally, the Ohio Arts Council helps fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
