Details on Last Night's Rollover Accident, Alcohol May Have Played a Role

Ansonia -On May 16, 2012 at approximately 10:12 p.m. Darke County Deputies, along with Ansonia Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to Beamsville Union City Rd. east of Detling Rd. in reference to a one vehicle rollover accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, driven by Sergio Miranda-Saucedo (23) of Union City, IN, was westbound on Beamsville Union City Rd. Saucedo stated that deer were on the roadway and he swerved to miss the deer. Saucedo went off the right side of the road and lost control of the vehicle. Saucedo's vehicle then overturned, rolling 1 1/2 times, striking an Embarq utility pole. Saucedo was trapped inside the vehicle, but was pulled from the vehicle by a passerby.

Ansonia Rescue treated Saucedo at the scene. Saucedo was then airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. At this time Saucedo's condition is unknown.

Alcohol may have been a factor in this accident. Charges are pending results from the lab.
