During the all-star break, I pointed out that the Reds needed another bat to compete in the second half.
The Reds returned from the break and laid a big egg, dropping all three games in a rare series at Yankee Stadium. The Reds scored a paltry six runs in those three games (any of which could have been won with a little run support for the starting pitchers).
The Reds simply will not be able to beat good teams with a patchwork lineup and Zack Cozart batting second (for reference, recall 2012).
I am a little less grumpy about one thing though. Today Walt Jocketty said: "I'd like to add a bat."
But wait ... Rosie said that wasn't necessary!
