Two Airlifted Following Collision at 36 & 121

On August 2, 2015 at approximately 12:07pm Darke County Sheriff's Deputies along with Greenville Township Rescue, Tri-Village Rescue, Arcanum Rescue, New Madison Fire, and CareFlight, responded to an injury accident with multiple injuries at the intersection of SR 121 and US RT 36.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Grey 2014 Honda CRV driven by Alan Long 54, Belleville, IL. and wife Amy Long 52, front passenger, and son Eric Long 26, rear passenger, were traveling Westbound on US RT 36 and stopped at the intersection of SR 121, then failed to yield the right of way to a Northbound Black 2003 Chevy Suburban driven by Thomas Finlay 31, West Alexandria, OH. The Honda CRV was struck in the driver side and then traveled off the Northwest corner of the intersection over 1000 feet into a bean field.

Alan and his wife Amy were taken to Miami Valley Hospital aboard CareFlight and son Eric was uninjured. Mr. Finlay was transported to Wayne HealthCare in Greenville for minor injuries.

The condition of Mr. and Mrs. Long are unknown at this time.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
