From Summer to Fall at the Library

The Greenville Public Library's Children’s Summer Reading drew to a close on Wednesday July 27th with a great show by “Elephant & Piggy” (thank you Alex Vehre and Candice Henne) and awarding of the grand prizes! Five-year-old Katie Baker won the bike and ten-year-old Carson Figel won 4 tickets to King’s Island. 410 kids participated and 50 prizes overall were given out. Congratulations, Kids!

Now Miss Julie has a great schedule of fall events from September 6th through December 14th (no programs during the week of Thanksgiving). Story Times are Tuesdays at 11:00 for ages 4 & up and Wednesdays at 11:00 for ages 2 & 3.

For ages 6 to 11 Lego Club is at 7:00 the 2nd Thursday of each month. Teen Thursday is every week after school with snacks, crafts, games, robotics, and Wii. Check Facebook for details.

Two big events are in the works, starting with the drive-in movie Cars. Families must register for this 2-day program. On Thursday September 22nd at 6:00 families will turn cardboard boxes into vehicles. The Library will supply the boxes and paint. Then on Saturday September 24th at 2:00 kids will watch the movie Cars from their awesome vehicles. Snacks will be served.

Then Pete the Cat will take place December 3rd, an all-day funfest of crafts, games, and a movie. Of course you’ll want to get your picture taken with cool-cat Pete! Follow us on Facebook, our website, and Instagram for more on Fall at the Library!
